If you are unable to identify the current IP address for a BirdDog device follow this procedure.
Identifying IP address – Windows 10
2. Find and select the BirdDog device from the list and note down its IP Address. Device name will most likely be “BIRDDOG-XXXXX” where XXXX is the last 5 digits of the device’s MAC address (MAC can be found on a sticker on the base of the unit)
In this example the IP Address is 192.168.1.3
Change network settings for your PC
Now we will change our IP address of our PC to match the subnet of the statically assigned BirdDog device.
1. Right click on Windows icon bottom left of screen and select “Network Connections”
2. Click on “Change adapter options:”
3. Right Click on the Network adapter that is connected to your network and select “Properties”

4. Select “Internet protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Once selected click on “Properties” Assigning IP Address
We are now going to manually assign a new IP address to the PC network card to match the subnet of the BirdDog device.
From example 1 above, the IP address of the camera is 192.168.1.3.
2. Set your new IP address to be 192.168.1.X – “X” can be any value between 2 – 255, provided the IP address is not already allocated to another device. Use Bonjour Browser to determine what IP address’ are free.
3. Subnet Mask will be 255.255.255.0 for most networks, if unsure talk to your IT department
4. Default Gateway – Leave blank

Logging into the BirdDog UI interface
Once you have changed the network settings on your PC/Mac Network card enter the IP address of the device (IP address can be found using Bonjour Browser) into the address bar.
Default Password for BirdDog devices is “birddog” – note: exclude quotes.
Once you are logged into the Birddog device UI:
2. You can now do one of two things to get the BirdDog device onto the correct network subnet
i. By selecting DHCP, the devices will be allocated its IP address from your router
i. Assign desired IP Address
ii. It is HIGHLY recommended that you use DHCP and not a static IP address
Once the new IP address settings have been applied to the device, you will now need to revert your PC’s network address to its previous settings.
NOTE: If using DHCP, and depending on your network, the camera may pick up the IP range from your network card before you can change it back to the original settings. If this is the case, the camera may need to be power cycled in order for the network to now assign it a new IP address via DHCP.
