Fire Alarm Systems

Krix don't manufacture any BS EN54 fire rated excavation speakers. (This European Standard specifies requirements, test methods and performance criteria for loudspeakers intended to broadcast a warning of fire between a fire detection and fire alarm system and the occupants of a building.)

Fire Resistance

Krix inceiling and inwall speakers do not have a fire resistance rating, although our backbox designs would reduce the speed at which a fire would spread between rooms via our speakers.

If Krix speakers are to be used in an installation where a fire resistance rating is required (eg BS EN1363 standards) you may consider purchasing a 3rd party fire hood to ensure your installation meets the required local standards.
